Jumped on to do my morning look at Pinterest and was struck by some beautiful, inspiring images from Grant K.Gibson Interior Design's boards. I find these very fitting as I'm sitting at my desk preparing for work with the hum of lawn mowers busy at it outside.
I think I'll have to treat myself to a sweet bunch of fresh flowers for my desk today!

Color POP!
I am totally inspired by all of the pops of color that nature brings in the spring! There are times (like now) when I wish I had a room with strong pops of random colors. Don't get me wrong...my house has lots of color, just not jump out at ya kinda color!

I think I will satisfy my need for color with a few key items for my closet.

My Someday List...
This is the pic that started my Chippendale stair rail obsession. Unfortunately, this project is on my "someday" list, which is quite tough for me as I'm typically not the most patient when it comes to things like this. A few years ago, I considered ripping out my basic builder rail and adding this, but then the market tanked and I decided adding things that I couldn't take with me when I sold (who knows when that will be) didn't make much sense. So, my pic will stay tucked in my stash for future use.
It's such a classic design that fits in most any style interior. WHEN it's in my house it will look very much like this- black and glossy.

Banquette seating
Happy Monday!
I am starting a new project and researching ideas for kitchen banquette seating. I would love to do a built-in, but because of the length of the windows I think I will actually need to do a free-standing furniture piece. These pics are great inspiration! I'll have to share the concept we decide on once all of the details have been finalized.
This one is a great example of a separate furniture piece rather than having it built-in to the space.

Interior Therapy
I am a huge fan of the extremely entertaining and talented Jeff Lewis. If you have ever watched Bravo's Flipping Out you can probably understand my amusement. His temper tantrums, OCD tendencies, and the absolute bluntness of how he handles his clientele and employees are just down right entertaining!
Now, Jeff and his trusty assistant Jenni (who is hilarious) and housekeeper Zoila (equally as funny) are back on Bravo in Interior Therapy.
Check out this clip to get a very small dose of what he's like.
Being in the interior design industry, I find so many of the situations they find themselves in to be totally relatable to issues that all decorators and designers deal with. From husbands and wives who have totally opposite tastes, to clients wanting much more than their budget allows, to contractors who can be undependable and lack attention to detail, to unrealistic expectations of what it takes to make a project happen. I love seeing how Jeff and his crew handle all of these issues.
If you've never seen him in action...check it out!!

Meg Braff
For those of you who know me, it should be no suprise that I LOVE wallpaper!! Nothing can make a room pop more than a great abstract or geometric design. So, I was thrilled when I came across designer Meg Braff's new collection of mid-century inspired hand painted wallpapers.
Look at some of these incredible patterns....

Cherry Blossoms
Inspired by the beautiful cherry blossoms that are in full bloom around the DC area, I went in search of a room that highlighted the soft, subtle, pastel pink color of these delicate blossoms.

Frame love...
Frame style, to me, is one of the most crucial elements when pulling together the look of a room. So many people get caught up in "safe" choices and are too afraid to step out of their comfort zone to create a space that is unique. I tend to look for pieces that have interesting lines or some kind of unusual detail that makes it special.
I am in the middle of furniture selection for a couple of projects today and thought I would share a few of the frames that stand out to me.
Duralee's Rialto Chair
Duralee's Central Park Sofa
Kravet's Haddam Chair
Kravet's Clarion Chair
Kravet's Delta Sofa
Kravet's Adante Recamier
Here is the Adante Recamier in a project that I did recently.
